Ditto for me. I am at Falls Ridge almost every day and I have never noticed anything sinister or felt uncomfortable. There are much stricter rules on who can live there than there are anywhere else in EF, and it seems like a place where the rules are enforced. I have spoken with the local constabulary about crime in that area and the feedback I've gotten has indicated that whatever issues exist in Falls Ridge are no different from what you'd find on Bowman Street, for instance. On top of that, it's camaraed, at least in part - it's one of the few places I'd feel comfortable leaving a vehicle out if I went away on a trip.

My friend is a police officer in this area.

One day I was bragging about how nice our Ridge Ave projects are....and he looked at me and rolled his eyes a bit. He then told me that there are some shady cats in there, and he spends more time there than say, Billy's part of the area or my part of the area. I'm not screaming bloody murder...just stating that Falls Ridge is a crime source in EF.

Offenders attempted to rob the complainant. Male #1 stated, “Give me your keys!” while trying to reach into his pockets. Male #2 punched him in the mouth (breaking his tooth) and the complainant punched him back. Males fled on foot taking nothing.

Just go to the police department's website and look at the crime map for the past 30 days.
Unless I'm doing something wrong, I see 2 incidents; 1 on Kelly Drive and 1 on Bowman street.

I was hoping for a bit more statistical evidence. Right now we have your buddy's anecdotal evidence vs mine and Billy's anecdotal evidence.

The default on the PPD site is 3 days. You need to change the date range to 30. You will see a few more incidents.

I will go with what the police officer said. Obviously I'd prefer no crime as I live and own a home here, haha. It's still very safe when compared to most neighborhoods so I'm not worried....

A Calumet St. neighbor was informed yesterday that the PHA now plans to make this parking lot, that was used by many people in the area (especially those without a parking permit) into a "sitting area". No more parking. If this is true, it is TOTALLY unacceptable.

Calumet St. residents have been inconvenienced for a month now with this project. Not to mention the PGW construction going on at the same time. Both of which we got zero notice about. We cannot afford to lose those parking spots.

The footways were narrowed and the curbs moved. It looks to me like the plan there is for parking.

I feel it's TOTALLY unacceptable to park on Calumet with out a parking permit...

    You can park on Calumet
without a parking permit...you just might get a ticket . All the more reason to have the parking lot.

The fence is down, and the sliding board is gone. Oddly, on each of the past two days when I went through the lot, noone was parked in it. The final course of asphalt hasn't been laid down, but I'm a little surprised that people hadn't parked their cars in there, as there don't seem to be any signs forbidding parking or indicating that paving will happen soon, or at all. This was in the afternoon, so maybe it gets used at night.
