On Friday, April 13 from 6:00-8:30pm the East Falls Community Council will have its annual Chili Cook-off at 3544 Indian Queen Lane (next to Old Academy Players). This is a fundraiser with the funds going to provide grants to organizations in East Falls. Last year $5,000 was divided among East Falls Historical Society, Senior Citizens, Tree Tenders, Town Watch, Friends of McMichael Park, Northwest Victims' Services, and Physicians for Social Responsibility (Abbottsford Homes). Three judges determine the winners. All those present vote for the East Falls Chili Champion (the highest honor!). Vegan, Vegetarian, and traditional chilies are entered; professional and amateur cooks are invited. $15 for 1 person, $25 for 2, children 12 and under are free. Beer, wine, soda, and cake are included in the admission cost. If you'd like to cook, contact Roger Marsh, MarshRRR@gmail.com.
