    Default Ali Baba Palace

I noticed that this new Persian spot opened on Main St., just the other day. I think it's in a storefront that used to be a landscapers office a couple years ago.

    Ali Baba Palace

The interior looks nice and the menu authentic. Looks like it may be BYO, also. We certainly plan to check it out soon.

    Thumbs up

Cool! I love Iranian food. With the Turkish place just down the street, we are finally getting some different ethnic cuisine on Main. Thanks for the head's up.

Do you get a discount on limo service when you go there?

He's my neighbor. Find his home on Henry Ave. I'll be able to tell whether it's him or not by the decor of the restaurant. I'd guess it's him, though. He's been all about the Persian Grill.

I'm amazed to see Main Street become so interesting. I had thought it was beyond salvation.

Sounds like a good spot. I'll have to check it out.

It really seems like Main St is starting to cater more towards young professionals and families. The dining scene has definitely stepped up its game, and most of the events seem geared toward those demographics.

If I had to guess....it's gotta be this home, right?

That's who owns the house on Henry Ave? Makes sense now that I think about it. Glad to have an answer to that mystery, when I walk by I always wonder who lives there.

Very attractive inside.A great addition to Main Street.
However, seems a bit over priced.I hope owner adjusts prices before it is too late.

Someone with bad taste and directly across Coulter Street from the house with the plywood board garage door.

We finally got a chance to try out Ali Baba Palace. Our meal was good. My wife had chicken kabobs and I had the kabobs made from ground beef. The stuffed grape leaves were delicious, as well. I'd say the food was at least as good as the Persian Grill in Lafayette Hill and better than the old Shundeez in Chestnut Hill. Our entire meal for 2 was less than $45, and we brought our own wine. We'll definitely be returning.

Walked by the other day and prices seemed a bit high for what they offer. Just my opinion. Would like to try it eventually.

Christ, at those prices you best be able to keep the gilded plate as a keepsake!

FWIW, they do offer unlimited rice with each entree.

Like I said, our bill came to $42 (tax included) for an appetizer and 2 entrees (plus an assortment of flat breads, a sample of a new soup they were offering and walnut dates after dinner). I didn't think the pricing was unreasonable and we left satisfied. There prices are mostly identical to Persian Grill in Lafayette Hill and Kabul in Center City. Where else can one go for cheaper Persian food?

Anyone know if anything is up with this place? My wife and I tried to go tonight (Saturday) at 7 and it was closed. Seems strange for a Saturday.
