    Default Building a poker table

I'm looking to build my own poker table so I can host the boys for some friendly hands on the weekends and not sure where to begin.

Does anyone know where I can find information about:
1- Where to find a good plan/diagram for a 6-8 person poker table. (That includes cup holders!)
2- Where to get materials- lumber and finishing materials (ok if its different places, lumber vs. felt and bumpers?)
3- Where I can do work because I don't think I have all the right tools in my basement.

If anyone has built their own and can give me some pointers I would greatly appreciate it!

Have you tried doing a search? try "how to build your own poker table" or "scott's poker table"

You'll get a materials list. also google image search "poker table plan or details or drawings or blueprints"

search for the woodworking woodshop opening in manayunk. The owner made about about 500 posts on here. It's open to public use (for a fee and/or membership of course). Not sure if it officially opened yet, but seems like they will have all the lumber, tools and expert advice you will need.

wait, i see this was your first post.... are u actually the workshop making a creative way to plug your business? well done sir, well done.

Philadelphia Woodworks | Philadelphia's members woodshop

    give them a call.

depending on materials and price, you can also source really great hardwoods at Hearnes Hardwoods. That's where I go. Amazing place too.

    hardware shouldn't be an issue.

google poker table plans, do an image search and you'll get what you need.

    Default A cheaper option (more)

There has been a foldable green felt table top for poker at the Salvation Army for some time now. I think it seats six people. You can
put it on top of your table and start dealing. It has cutouts for drinks, chips, etc. I saw it yesterday in the rear section of the store, to the right near the electronics among the cabinetry. If you don't like that particular one you may be able to buy something similar elsewhere.

check craigslist for a bumper pool table. Most of them have tops for poker with cup holders

I also recently saw a tremendously nice custom poker table for sale. It's not cheap ($700, though you can probably barter the guy dwon), and it's not that close (near Long Beach Island in New Jersey), but it is nice, and it would save you a lot of time building one. One trip in a van, and you'll be playing poker that night:

anyone know if that members woodworking shop in manayunk opened yet? Heard about it about two months ago and have been hoping to hear more and get in and start making stuff again. Haven't had access to any equipment worth anything since back in college forever ago...
