    Default PWD Fox Street Construction

Does anyone know how long the PWD construction will continue on Fox Street by the Queen Lane Reservoir? The road has been one direction only for some time now...and everytime I've passed there appears to be absolutely no work going on. When are we going to have the road back?

    Default Fox St

Late January, unless further complications develop.

Let's start a pool. I'm going to predict June 2013. And about two weeks later, another project will begin 500 feet down the road, possibly ending sometime in the year 2018.

So late January has passed and Fox Street is not yet re-opened. Does anyone have an update? It would be helpful if PWD posted information re: the status on their website or if the EFCC could get an update and add that informtion to the Fallser. Hopefully the the construction contract has the contractor paying a fine for late completion of the project.

    Default It's Complicated

The proverbial Murphy has visited, bringing complications. Pipes/flanges fabricated for this job failed pressure test. In short, they leak, because they're defective. PWD will not accept band-aid fixes; the pipes must be replaced by the supplier. Fortunately, this has happened while the existing pump station is still in service. While no one can be happy about the delay, the alternative is to have a brand new leaking pump station.

Thanks for the update and explaination. It makes sense to insist on a pipe that doesn't leak. Any idea when we get our road back?

Drove by there this morning and the hole had been filled and they were working on putting down blacktop, so looks like this will be done any day now.
