Default New Used Bookstore in Manayunk!

I stopped in this afternoon-they're still setting up, but it's in a beautiful space and they have a great selection of books. I'm so excited to see this happening in our hood..best of luck to them!

They are open weekends for now and will be open 7 days a week in the fall.

    Default Yes!

    WOO-HOO!

It is a tough business they've entered, and more power to them. Can't wait to see their selection. I may just send them money out of pure gratitude!

also very pleased about the used book store and definitely will go there but i must admit that i if i am looking for a specific book nothing beats Alibris: Used Books, Used Textbooks, Rare & Out-of-Print Books.

They got some nice press in the Star today; I'd link if I knew how! If you want to see photos of the place, they have a Facebook presence too. Looks very nice indeed.

Now that the MDC and many other anti-bar posters on this web site got a use book store, will they patronize it? Or continue to buy books on Amazon?

I don't really read books but I wish this business the best of luck. I like going out to Manayunk bars as much as the next guy but Main St could use some diversity and certainly, less vacancies. My gf reads, so I'll be sure to let her know about this store.

Is the Star still being home-delivered or is it strictly distributed through local stores? We got one delivered for a few months a year or so ago, but haven't seen one in a long long time...

Hey everyone! I'm the owner of The Spiral Bookcase on Cotton St. A very nice individual notified me that there was a thread about the shop on this site. I'm thrilled! We're very pleased to be a new presence in Manayunk and happy that we are welcomed. We have been getting some wonderful feedback thus far, since opening on 7/17. We sell mostly used books, along with some new titles (and we can special order!) as well as some gift items and jewelry. Our hours are Fri-Sat 10am-9pm and Sunday 10am-7pm. We will be open 6 days a week starting in the autumn. Please feel free to email me at thespiralbookcase@gmail.com with any questions you might have about the shop. I hope to see you there and chat with you in person. Cheers!

Stopped in Sunday morning. Great location -- right next to Mugshots! She was well stocked for being newly opened, some new books but mostly used. This will definitely be an asset to Main St.
