Kentucky restaurant shut down after roadkill found in kitchen
By Mike Krumboltz | The Sideshow – 23 hrs ago

Customers at the Red Flower Chinese Restaurant in Williamsburg, Ky., alerted authorities after they spotted something they probably wish they hadn't: restaurant employees wheeling roadkill back to the kitchen.

It wasn't found in the food, they were just butchering it in the kitchen, jeez.

Well, that's still too close for comfort for me. Eek!

The roadkill was apparently a deer stuffed into a trash can. "There was actually a blood trail they were mopping up behind the garbage can," customer Katie Hopkins said. "There was like a tail, and like a foot and a leg sticking out of the garbage can, and they wheeled it straight back into the kitchen."

The owner said he didn't plan to serve the deer to customers—instead he planned to use it to feed his family.

When I was a little girl in Germantown, my nona used to warn us not to let the cat out because the Chinese people (two whole families- one who had a laundry and one who had a Chinese take out) would eat the cats. This was a huge joke in my family for years- she even told my husband not to let our cat roam. Well it was really funny until my husband and I were in Guangjhou and visited the outdoor market. Barrels of fish, crates of chickens, crates of...cats. We were really careful where we ate after that.

    Hah! Thanks for the laugh.

Tell the truth I never met those two families. We had our own washer and dryer and we never ate Chinese food.

But I should mention that despite what she said about the endangered cats, my grandmother absolutely adored her Chinese great grand daughter. Although one day she asked me if, when she grew up, I was going to tell her she was adopted and Chinese. We told that story in her eulogy.
