Default NINBY stops Disabled Vet's home from being built in their neighborhood..Feel they are the real victims...

Disabled Vet's Home Would Have Brought Down Property Values, Says Homeowners Association

Earlier in the saga, Trump had told the TV journalists that the neighborhood was going to "roll up our sleeves and we're going to get to work in here with the volunteers when that time comes." Maybe what he really meant by "when that time comes" was that the time would never come, for the paperwork to stop rolling in, and the setbacks to keep coming.

Trump also says that some homeowners were worried that Trump's house would "drag down the value of their homes, either because of the style of the home or the size." But an appraiser told AOL that neither small houses nor those customized for disabled people drag down property values. Maybe Knob Hill had talked to a different appraiser? Or no appraiser at all, but just had a "gut feeling."

you have gotta be ****ing kidding me. They don't deserve to have a vet living in their community. Too bad for them, what goes around comes around.

Right, because property values aren't going down because of the astounding number of foreclosures in Knob Hill: foreclosures Knob Hill Court Atlanta - Google Search

I'm going to go with my "gut" instinct and say that if this was a white vet, things might have gone a bit differently. Just take a look at the swim team: Swim Team

It seems ridiculous based on this opinion article but that kind of thing goes on here all the time.

I don’t know anything about this non-profit but here in the City we know all too well that some are shady and a detriment to the community. I wouldn’t fight a home built for a disabled veteran on my block but if it were done by Universal, I would certainly think twice about it.

Since this is a community governed by a HOA, I’m sure they’re number one priority is not setting a precedent for non-profits to start building homes there. Even if this non-profit is on the up-and-up, what happens when the group trying to build a home for drug rehabilitation or people with serious emotional disorders comes knocking?

Every community is looking out for preserving their quality of life, neighborhoods in this city included. They do seem to be a bunch of jerks but I won’t judge them without knowing the facts.

Which would be fine if they were up and up about it, but THEY don't even know the facts why they are against it...or at lease keep their story straight....
