    Default Lawn signs - political

Has ther been any studies on whether or not political lawn signs impact a voter's decision?
Seems they are a waste of money, a way to launder a supporter's contribution into something which helped you win, so now do me a favor.

Not those little flimsy ones handed out by the candidates.

However, plenty of homemade signs have been used by the Brady goons to impact a voter's decision.

    That would be incorrect.

    Default That would be incorrect.

    Why?

The author asked if there is data of substance, not an opinion. It's a valid question, as Philadelphia has banned them.
I consider them clutter much like billboards, and a waste of money as well.

Why waste the money? Repeatedly this week, analysts have said that the chief merit of the debates is to woo the undecided, the others are staunchly hard line. I agree, with the caveat that most of the undecided I have ever known would split their ticket.

What then is the merit of lawn signs? For one it defeats the sanctity of security of your ballot.
Then too, if the cost of elections were to be challenged or cut, where would YOU begin?

Clarification: understanding that politicians need to laud their party, why do so many people seem to need to tell us who they are voting for? Whoever you are who owns that property, why tell me who you vote for? Do you expect that to change my vote? Who is so shallow that their vote is influenced by neighbors or friend's lawn signs.

I agree that most publicity is useless and equally wonder if there are tangible studies to show either they do or do not. To dcss1205's point, I could see where some makes a large contribution, payback or favors inferred, and wants to see material goods from that contribution. Part of my disbelief comes from so much ignorate, negative e-mail received. I ask people not to send me e-mail which a simple fact check would show false, so they ignore my request, as I ignore(delete) their propaganda

Sorry but I have real work to get back to.

I responded to his second sentence which was an opinion and an incorrect one.

    No they haven't.

I don't understand this part at all. Can you rephrase or explain?

Yeah that is the confusion...They didn't ban them, they banned signs posted on city poles. Lawn Signs are legal as they are posted by the owner and they allowed them....
