Signed and good luck.
Signed and good luck.
"No one wanted to be mayor of Philadelphia. It was a thankless job, which for the first 56 years offered an annual salary of zero. In 1745, two men turned down the position and instead accepted large fines. In 1747, Anthony Morris fled to Bucks County to hide and thus avoid notification of his election. After Morris’s disappearance, a new election was held, and William Atwood was re-elected."
"So if you've seen nothing, if the crimes of this government remain unknown to you then I would suggest you allow the eighth of November to pass unmarked. But if you see what I see, if you feel as I feel, and if you would seek as I seek, then I ask you to stand beside me one year from tonight, outside the gates of City Hall, and together we shall give them a eighth of November that shall never, ever be forgot. "
I signed days ago, but I got my wife to sign today. I'm going to shop it around to other friends who are also residents as well.
Blast you! I'm not made out of airports!

Signed. Good work on this Chris.
We have two more council elections until the next gerrymandering: 2015 and 2019. That means we have two chances to get a real councilmember into office. If KJ is re-elected both of those times and the rest of Council stays pretty much the same, I don't think there's any doubt that they will rig the district in his favor—probably by packing neighborhoods west of Broad and above Washington (Grad Ho, Fitler Sq.) into Squilla's district.
This is why I don't think any time is too soon to start talking about 2015.

Is Capozzi open to running again? She's very active in the community and still building a constituency, I think.
Question seconded! Although I would imagine we can only hope for now. Announcing an intent to run prematurely could be counterproductive.
The wisest thing to do in the meantime might be just to make sure everyone realizes what a huge mistake giving KJ one term in City Council has been.
They do redistricting to ballance for population growth and loss. I doubt they will be handing turf off to Squilla since his district is growing the fastest of any in population. Clarke maybe, not Squilla.
Note they actually did the opposite last time and carved out Hawthorne and handed it over to District 2 for precisely this reason. West is losing population overall still so he won't be expanding more on the west side of the Schuykill. If North loses population fast enough he might hand off G-ho to Clarke.
