We are seeking a Specimen Processor I in our Specimen Processing department. The hours for this position are Tuesday through Saturday, from 9:30am to 6:00pm. A minimum of 2 years of lab experience, plus experience with MS Office and typing/data entry skills are required. College level math and biology training are preferred. Major duties and responsibilities of this position include:
Accessioning samples into the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS)
Assigning test codes and requesting client clarification if needed
Reviewing requisitions and correcting errors
Maintaining chain of custody documentation
Monitoring backlog reports
Moving active samples to long-term storage
The Specimen Processor I must have knowledge of chain of custody procedures, as well as knowledge of proper evidence sealing procedures. He or she should have the ability to comprehend regulations and SOPs, and should be able to apply them to work operations. The candidate must be detail-oriented and able to work with a high degree of accuracy, and also should have a strong focus on excellent customer service.
