Cat catching mice

I've never seen a mouse, or evidence of a mouse (droppings or eaten food), in my house until I find my cat playing with a dead one.

Anybody else have this happen, and if so, is it enough that the cat catches them or is it something that should be addressed?

He's only caught 4 in 3 years, but 2 in the past 2 months. I have no idea in what part of the house he's finding them.

Mice often enter houses this time of year as the weather gets colder. They can enter the house through incredibly small openings- under doors etc. If you don't see evidence of them you may not have a real infestation. In addition to droppings, another sign of infestation might be noises in your walls and ceilings. They don't usually invade in secret, believe me. So until you have real signs of more than an isolated mouse or two, I wouldn't worry.

My parents live next to a wooded area and they are heavily infested every fall and winter. My sister usually insists on humane traps but last year even she gave that up. My dad is bedridden and we just had to get rid of the little buggers. By any means necessary.

Sounds like Kitty is making sure they're not there long enough to make themselves @ home, thus warding off infestation.
