Default Where Can I Find Out What Metal These Are Made Of?

So I got from a garage sale this set of measuring spoons but I'm afraid to use them because I think they might be lead. I know it sounds improbable, but the metal is the right color and it's very soft. Where would I get these analyised? Or maybe I could just pick up a hardware store lead test? Thanks!

Unless you get them tested by a professional lab, I wouldn't use em. Just getting an opinion from some scrap metal guy just won't do it. You said they were soft like lead? Do they react if you touch one end with a soldering iron?

They make cheap lead test kits to test your home water pipes. I would try one of those. They work very well.

I can basically promise its not lead. It would be REALLY unusual for something like measuring spoons to be made out of lead. If they are painted, there could be lead in the paint, but more than likely if they are old and painted its a porcelain coating.

They made a lot of aluminum spoon sets back in the day. Every house had them in the 50's.
Just look on ebay, and you'll see tons of them.
