Anyone know a place that will refinish a cast iron tub? Is there a difference between refinishing and reglazing?
Does the refinish/reglaze hold up?
Thanks.

I'm also interested in finding someone to do this, preferably without removing it from the house (if possible). Anyone?
Just shop the yellow pages. I had it done to in-Place tub & 4 legged tub, back in the 80's & 90's. Great job by both vendors, found both in local paper. Also suggest Angies List.
I can't see any reason why it wouldn't hold up as long as it's treated well - think women - and lovingly cared for. If you're a coal miner or nuclear plant worker you may be better suited with a solid copper or SS tub.
There's a site where the guy has numerous pix of refinished antique tubs and he's getting good money for them, it's all in the prep work. I believe he uses an epoxy spray finish.
Here's a useful primer on old tubs that quickly came up with a google search - Vintage Clawfoot Tub Knowledge Base | Vintagetub
As said a refinished tub will not withstand the same daily use as a new tub, it's more for the look whatever that means...
