    Default Window repair?

I have two windows that no longer stay open. When I lift the window to open it, it immediately falls back down. Does anyone know if this can be repaired or do I need to get new windows? Thanks for your help.

They can be repaired, if they are vinyl the springs may need to be tightened or replaced. If they have ropes/chains they can also be repaired/replaced, tension springs can also be installed along the sides of the windows that also help the windows stay open. Oregon windows on 4th and Oregon Street is a great resource give them a call and save some money by repairing your windows.

May be possible that there is some slip in the fitting of your window, so I think first of all you should check for its fitting. But if you are still not able to get the actual problem then you should call a window repairman.

You can fix these windows yourself, you just need a hammer and screw to fix these things. So why are you wasting your time and money on this small problem.

That would be nice, but if I knew how to fix them myself, I wouldn't have started this thread.

If they are vinyl replacement windows I would just replace them. There are so many different sorts of springs and tensioning devices on them that you'll make yourself nuts trying to figure out what you have. Getting new windows isn't very expensive and, if the old ones were installed properly replacing them is a very simple matter. Remove 4 screws, cut the caulk and just pop em out and pop in the new ones.
