Default Washer and dryer for small stairway

Does anyone know if there is a washer and dryer that can be disassembled to fit through a narrow stairway, then reassembled? I thought that I saw one for sale a few years ago but I cant find it now. I know that most manufacturers sell compact washers and dryers, but I don't really want a compact unless I don't have any other choice.

I just bought a full size speedqueen washer & dryer from C&D Appliances at 1121 South 8th Street (215) 467-2121. They disassembled both, took them down in my basement, and reassembled them. I think they charged $50 or $75 for it, but they work a lot better than the old apartment sized units that were down there. I am happy with the purchase and their service.

We use C&D frequently for the past 10-15 years. Very competitive prices and good service.

Maytag makes a washer and dryer that come apart. We got ours at Home Depot.

Dominic's Appliances at 18th and Passyunk in S. Phila. carries the models made to be taken apart and can schedule the installation. 215-334-9192

    Default best washer?

I'm kind of a newbie too in the whole washing machine buying category so I need a little bit of help here! I want a nice washer but I also don't want to spend a billion dollars (doesn't everybody?) So I was hoping for a little advice and suggestions about buying a little bit cheaper washer that's still pretty high quality if that makes sense. I found this site Front Load vs Top Load Washers 2013 Review and it was good to read some information about each washer. I'm thinking about buying the LG WT5070 but i'm not sure if that's the best washer for the price. Any help or suggestions would be great, thanks guys.

Don't buy online unless you saw it in a store first. And don't trust those Amazon reviews either.
