    Default Mold inspector?

I'm in the process of an eviction. Of course after getting the "get out" letter, my tenant is claiming the house is completely full of mold and threating action against me. I looked at it today and its a quarter sized black spot on the bathroom ceiling where there was a leak I never knew about, and some nebulous "around there" area on the stone wall in the basement.

If anyone knows someone thats accredited that could come out and and take a look without charging me an arm and a leg it would be appreciated.

I would just hit it with bleach and clean off the mold, then repaint. Once you've been notified that there's an issue, it's your responsibility to get it taken care of as soon as possible. I had tenants that complained during an eviction that they didn't have smoke detectors, which of course were there when they moved in. I immediately replaced them so that I could proceed with the eviction. Not surprlsingly, when I checked during the lockout, the smoke detectors were missing again.

Yeah, I feel ya. I'm less concerned about the actual remediation and more concerned about the cover my ass game. The mold is actually so minor as to be laughable, but I want to have something in hand in the event I end up in court.

I'm feeling particularly miffed at the moment. I had to replace the water heater today, it mysteriously stopped working and started leaking all over the place the day after the letters were received.

Just to vent a little, this is the 3rd water heater I've had to replace in the past 2 weeks. My other 2 tenants....no big deal....no hot water, I'll be there in the morning to hook ya right up. This guy...oh you don't bother paying rent but I'm supposed to hop to it and get you set up right after you went on and on about how much money you were gonna make from filing suite against me. Grrr

    Hello and Happy Wednesday,

I highly recommend Anthony Meloro at 610 586-2848, he is straight forward, does not blow things out of proportion and very reasonable with his prices. I have actually worked on a couple of high profile mold remediations with him back in the day at the Washington Township School District in Jersey as well as some residential work. He is the only name I give out to clients/family/friends because I know him and his work and see so many used car salesman/shisters/incompetents in the mold business.

    Good luck with your situation,
