covered patio and grill? safe? not safe? what's your take?

so, i bought a grill and was about to start assembling it when i had second thought due to the fact that the only place i really have to use it is under my covered patio. i like my house not all burned up and can't decide if it is too risky to grill under the (metal) roof.

Keep a fire extinguisher handy, be prepared for the porch to smell like bbq smoke for a couple of days, and you should be fine!
