Frederick DeBourg Richards Photograph Collection at the Library Company of Philadelphia

Frederick DeBourg Richards (1822-1903) appears to have been directed by antiquarians Charles A. Poulson, and John F. Watson to document old buildings in Philadelphia in some 120 photographs taken during the years just before the Civil War. Further information may be found in Laurie A. Baty, "'Proud of the Result of My Labor,' Frederick DeBourg Richards (1822-1903)," Daguerreian Annual, 1995.

CHIOSSO, I'm going to be lost in this link for quite awhile. The photos of rowhome constuction and women working for the war effort are a trip back in time. Thanks for posting all the historic links you do.
This one is taking me back to my mother's and grandparent's world. Amazing.

    Default Pahrc

Unfortunately PAHRC doesn't have a link to images, yet. We are continuing to work on the new website. However, we do have images of:

Priests - Philly and elsewhere, which go back to the 1850's. Which does not mean that we have a portrait of every priest that ever served in the Archdiocese.

    Churches - Philly and elsewhere

Halvey Collection, photos made by Robert Halvey for the Catholic Standard & Times photos from mid 1950's to the mid 90's.

Scrapbooks - newspapers and photos. Card. Doughtery, & Archbishop Ryan kept scrapbooks. Msgr. Lallou created many scrapbooks which start with baby pictures, Card. Krol created 181 scrapbooks.

First Vatican Council - book of portraits of attendees.
Goodnight Rossana Arquette whereever you are.
