Appears some of your posts from here wound up on that site also, now I know if I post something you found, onto another site such as the Northern Liberties.org site, I would always credit you for the find, and if there is a URL for the original location, I will put that up too
A nice helping of possible copyright infringements as well.
Goodnight Rossana Arquette whereever you are.

Zark, the person who created that hugely popular Facebook page called Old Images of Philadelphia is me. My name is Carl and do to the amount of people who read your post they were curious to see what Old Images of Philadelphia was all about, so in essence your ranting and raving has sent them to my page. I admit I did use some images that you had on your page and since they were not owned by you, I took it upon myself to use them but as a far as the words you used to describe the pictures there's no patent or copyright on words no matter who uses them. If you have any further questions or concerns please feel free to contact me here and maybe we can settle this amicably if it appears to be turning into a dispute. My apologies to you and the others who were affected !!!!

My Facebook page has pictures and images of Philly from the late 1800's to the 1990's and it covers Center City, South Philly, West Philly, North Philly, Southwest Philly, Northeast Philly,Northwest Philly, Germantown and all other sections of the City !!!
Yo Carl Zarks post is 8 months old. Zark is a great guy, we were surprised when we saw our words on your page. No biggie. In fact both Zark and I have both posted on your page . You just don't know our government names.

Oops!
As someone who earns a living using words, I need to correct your impression here.
Yes, conversations aren't copyrighted, and posts to this discussion board fall into that category.
But there certainly ARE copyrights and other legal protections that apply to words.
If I wrote a speech and copyrighted it before reading it aloud, it would matter not at all that someone only heard the words and did not see the manuscript - that person would be violating copyright.
Edited to add: Words used to describe products or services, or words used to promote them, can also be trademarked, which also restricts others' ability to use them.
Carry on, folks.

Chiosso, i love the work of you and zark, you guys had the most interesting pictures and information. I think i know who you are, because one of you guys had a character from the hit hbo crime drama called the "wire" as your default picture on facebook.......lol !!!
I understand what you are saying, but the words you used to describe the photo's and images were not copyrighted so therefore no infringement violations ever took place. How ever if it was a speech or other copyrighted material that would of been a different story. But this is only a Blog there's no copyright to words of the English language because they don't belong to one particular person or entity !!!!
