Additional wood has been uncovered from the Revolutionary War-era ship found last year at the WTC site. The ship is believed to have possibly been a British troop carrier, based on a uniform button found lodged between pieces of the wood, and may have been used as landfill to extend Manhattan.

A dendrochronological examination of wood samples by Columbia University has already disclosed that the trees almost certainly grew in the Philadelphia area and were cut down no later than the 1770s.
