Default New to Philly, where can I find affordable acupuncture?

    Hello All,
I just moved to Philly in June from NYC. Can any one recommend a good place to get acupuncture, that's not to expensive? I live off pine and 8th,but don't mind traveling a little as long as u can take a bus etc...
    Thanks!

    Hi Janet,

There are not one but TWO acupuncture clinics within walking distance of your new home. There is a medi-spa-type place at the corner of 7th and Bainbridge, which advertises holistic healing, acupuncture/acupressure, massage, etc. Been in business at least a year now.

Further east on the same block of Bainbridge, next to Society Hill Arts, is what I believe is called the Philadelphia Acupuncture Clinic. They JUST opened, like within the last month, but every time I walk by there are people inside waiting.

    Good luck!

Thanks so much for your responses! I walked by the place on Bainbridge-the Philadelphia acupuncture clinic, on my way to Essene market, and made an appointment for Tommorow. I'll let you know how it goes! I'm really enjoying exploring Philly, on another note
, does anybody know of any other health food stores or food co-ops around me? I thought of joining the west Philly food co-op , but if there's one closer that'd be nice.

Well living where you do, you have several options. There is 9th Street, sometimes also known as the Italian Market, with its varieties of foods. Then there is Whole Foods on South St., across from Superfresh. There is also the Reading Terminal Market at 12th & Arch, and of course the already mentioned by you, Essene.

Are you looking for something in particular or good, fresh, produce? Please narrow it down.

The South Philly Food Co-op is in the process of being organized as well: South Philly Food Co-op

And don't miss the farmer's market on Headhouse Square (2nd & Lombard) on Sundays. It's awesome. Fair Food Farmstand in Reading Terminal is really good too (all local produce, dairy, and other products) and it's year round.

Thanks! The south Philly food co-op would be ideal, I'm definitely going check out both markets this weekend. Also, I had my 1st appointment at the
Philadelphia Acupuncture clinic, and it was great!
