    Default Treadmill Issues

For the last week my treadmill has been turning itself off at exactly 28 minutes, and 20 seconds. I checked the power to the socket and there doesn't seem to be any issues there. Any suggestions? I guess there could be some loose wiring inside the treadmill itself, but I find it peculiar that it turns off at precisely 28 minute and 20 seconds.

Treadmills have timers that can be set on them that automatically shut down the machine at a certain time. Since yours is shutting down at the exact same time, I am inclined to say this is the case with your treadmill. A lot of gyms set their treadmills for an hour limit. I don't run on treadmills too often anymore, but when I was in the military they applied the same restrictions on treadmills in some of the gyms. No worries...there are ways around this:

Note the brand and model of treadmill you are running on and follow it with a simple google search. Once you do a little online investigating, you should be able to identify how to change the time limit on the treadmill. Often this consists of holding several of the buttons on the treadmill until a new menu screen starts blinking or appears. Most treadmills will then take you through a series of defaults that you can set. Once you get to the time limit, simply change it.

    Good luck.

Can I piggy back on your thread?

My gifted treadmill belt starts slipping if you walk over 2.6 mph (Gah!). Any clue on where to learn how to tighten a belt?

Usually there are two screws on the end where you can use an allen wrench to increase the tension. If you google around you'll find some articles with pictures.

Politburo is right. I need to increase the tension on mine all of the time, and all it takes is a single twist on each screw with an allen wrench.
