Have any of you ladies out there ever tried Latisse? Did it work well? Would you recommend it?

I haven't, but a friend of mine is a doctor and said that she's used some far cheaper, somewhat generic form that works as well if not better. I could find out the name for you and send it to you if you like.

It can cause you to go BLIND...really, that's a potential side effect. Are thicker lashes really worth that?
Please try Cargo's "Texas Lash" mascara and an eyelash curler before resorting to that. For my sake!

we coudl scare ourselves of taking any type of medication if we just looked at a list of potential side effects.
a potential side effect of aspirin is death.
latisse is the same drug used in prescription glaucoma treatment but when used for eyelash growth it isn't placed in the eye. blindness is not listed as a potential side effect of the drug. there is an increased risk of eye infection that may lead to blindness, but if you use single use applicators that is mediated.

I have tried it & it worked really well - I recommend it. It does NOT go in the eye! When I ran out of product; I bought Peter Thomas Roth (I think that's the name) from Sephora for less expensive - it didn't work quite as well - but I saw a difference in my lash length.
I've been using Latisse off and on for 3 years. It has not turned me blind. It does make my lashes much longer, thicker, fuller. I'm thrilled with no more skimpy lashes an using less mascara. because it is so expensive, (I can't find it for less than $112. and that's in PHX where the tax jacks it up to 120) I make a bottle last 2-3 months by dropping one drop in the lid and squishing my applicator down into it. That's enough for both eyes. I reuse applicators with no problem. I've been trying Smartlash as an alternative, but you must use it religiously twice daily and its not as good as Latisse. I've seen Latisse online for $89 via mail but hesitate to order. Anyone use the online product? Is it for real?
My fiancée uses it, has regularly, and it works TREMENDOUSLY. Stay with it, you'll see results inside of 30 days.

Hi Oladybug,
I am Sabella. Working as Team Leader in Bella Medspa. LATISSE is an ophthalmic drug product. If any gets into the eye, it is not expected to cause harm. Your eye should not be rinsed. Do not use LATISSE if you are allergic to one of its ingredients.
I have a friend who used it after her eyelashes failed to grow in much at all after an extended time on chemo. It helped a great deal. She's very careful about any medications, being a stage 3 ovarian cancer survivor for 5 1/2 years, but she finally agreed to use it as part of wanting to look normal again.
Studies show you can expect a 25 percent increase in the length of your eyelashes, a 106 percent increase in the thickness/fullness of your lashes and an 18 percent increase in the darkness of your eyelashes if you use Latisse. These improvements tend to occur in eight weeks, and full results are visible in 16 weeks.
Pregnant women and people with skin infections of the upper eyelids should not use Latisse.
