Ahmadinejad is not taken seriously by anyone outside of Iran. In Iran I think he is not taken seriously by many, even among the religious freaks.

By no means is this guy a "thought leader" in the world, so don't worry. He's considered a buffoon, a GW Bush-type but in a two-bit country. The even have the same tiny, close-set chimp-like eyes (unfair to chimps to draw any conclusions from this).

Ahmedinejad speaking of a new world order is about as newsworthy and worrisome as Councilwoman Blackwell speaking of it.

But go ahead and vote for Romney and see if that improves your security from big bad boogie men like Ahmadinejad. Speaking of fearlessness, if you are gung ho about a more forceful American response to the embassy attacks, perhaps you and a few of the Romney boys could volunteer for a stint in Afghanistan or Iraq?

Default Netanyahu says doesn't know of any U.S.-Iran talks

Netanyahu says doesn't know of any U.S.-Iran talks

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said on Sunday he didn't know about any U.S. plans to talk bilaterally with Iran, saying tougher sanctions and a "credible military option" were the best ways to peacefully halt Tehran's nuclear program.

The New York Times said Iran had insisted that talks with Washington not begin until after a November 6 presidential election determines whether President Barack Obama will serve a second term or if challenger Mitt Romney will succeed him.

What do we have to look forward too ?

The first issue at hand is that Tehran has a long history of using "talks" as a way to delay and buy time. It was only Saddam Hussein of Iraq who ever came close to bringing Iran to task. I believe they feel invincable and enjoy flaunting it such as burning US flags and exporting terrorism.
Sadly these are not people that can be reasoned with as much as I abhor war. I'd expect this war will commence soon after the election but hope I'm wrong.

Why do we have to automatically go to war with them? What happened to the Stuxnet virus that destroyed the centrifuges?

Why is there no talk about having a nuke free Middle East with all countries including Israel open to inspectors?

Why should we in the US fear one Iranian bomb that at this point can't even reach us when we have a weapons superiority that if they tried something we can have them ALL shanking hands with Allah?

Why fear Iranian technology when Pakistani scientists have already made their country a nuclear power? If the Iranians wanted to fire a nuclear missile at any infidels they can just borrow a nuke from their Paki brothers.

All this war drum banging is a lot of nonsense and seems like an employment plan for Americans when the young are drafted to fight another war for oil or to protect Israeli condos built on Palestinian olive groves.

Benjamin Netanyahu is about as credible as a used car salesman. His primary interest is in manipulating the US administration.

have you noticed "they" - hawks, that is - have been breathlessly telling us iran has been months away from nuclear deployment capabilities for at least the last 10 years.

for those of you convinced that this time it's real, i ask: did you never read aesop's fables as a child? remember the boy who cried wolf? don't you at least remember the endless false propoganda about iraq? do you never learn? are you that stupid? iran is not child's play, but the alarmism is so old already.

netanyahu is an israeli version of ahmadinijad, just more intelligent and cunning, but probably no more moral. he's just trying to impact the US election because he hates obama.

the irony is that ahmadinejad also wants a republican administration. guys like ahmadinejad, bush, putin, netanyahu are all the same: they revel in sabre-rattling and jingoistic rabble-rousing as a way to consolidate domestic political power and enrich themselves and their very rich friends.

govstatistic, ignorant people like you fall right into their comforting trap. i pity your tiny brain and lack of knowledge.

agreed. interesting how the biggest warmongers and hawks typically have never fought in war: gwb, cheney, romney, rumsfeld. but they all sure have alot of investments in the weapon and military logitistics and natural resource extraction industries. could there be a conflict of interest there, just maybe?

Pakistan is majority Sunni, Shiia and other religious minorities are regularly the recipient of attacks by Paki Taliban extremists. So they aren't really on the same side as Iran. Didn't stop them from selling them technology for profit, but they also sold the same technology to North Korea.

But anyway, carry on. I generally agree with your point.

the UN has a long history of being on-site during massacres and general genocide, while doing not a thing. what's the sense to arm an army that does nothing?
