Despite the British government's all-out efforts to put the European countries on a confrontational path with Iran, the Swiss ambassador to Tehran speaks of friendly ties with Iran.


In an interview with Blake Weekly, published in Switzerland, the Swiss ambassador to Tehran, Livia Leu Agosti, announced her country had no plans for lowering the level of ties with Iran saying “Iran has no hostility toward Switzerland and we would stay in Tehran,” reported Iran's Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA).

Agosti's comments come as the British government has launched a fresh campaign trying to make the relationship between the European countries and Iran bitter after its scenario for a war with Iran failed.

Britain, which has always been planning long nurtured and hostile plots for the Iranian nation throughout history, launched a new campaign struggling to make Iran “isolated” with “a great deal of solidarity” from all European Union (EU) member states, as described by the British Foreign Secretary, William Hague.

Hoping that the European countries would follow the lead of Britain, he British government closed its embassy in Tehran and expelled Iranian diplomats from Britain in a “completely unjustifiable” measure, as described by the Stop the War Coalition, the most prominent anti-war group in the UK.

Britain's new campaign comes as the country's officials continue to make relentless accusations against the Islamic Republic of Iran claiming that Iranian officials had approved the action of some angry protesters outside the British embassy while the Iranian government has categorically condemned the action of some protesters.

“William Hague has denounced the action of the students as a violation of international law. But Iran itself has been targeted for many years by a series of western and UK policies that are gross violations of international law,” said the Stop the War Coalition in a statement.

The Swiss government's decision and Agosti's remarks are a slap in the face of the British government that ruthlessly tries to undermine the relationship between Iran and the European countries.
