Default Nutter, lawlessness OK in Philly

I had to pull over as I heard Mayor Nutter tell the city of Phila. it OK to block off parking spots. This is not only against the law, but a issue people have died over. This has to be one of the most irresponsable words to leave a Mayors mouth. Mr. Nutter, how long do these people "own" the parking spot for May, June? If a kid moves the chair and you park there, can the "spot owner" kill you? If all the spots are taken, can I park in front of a Plug?

Hey Nutter, how about plowing the rest of the neighborhood so we will have more parking spots.

It Never Ceases to Amaze Me how these people of subnormal intelligence get into office.

Really??? You need to unwad your knickers. It was kind of dumb to give that endorsement.

I couldn't believe he said that either. Lets face it, 95% of the people do just enough to get their car out, they don't bother to actually shovel enough to create a spot for the next car can pull into, its more of a drive over the snow. According to Nutter if someone spends 2 hrs digging out their car we should show some respect and they should get to keep that spot. Get real people, it doesn't take 2 hrs to dig out your car, and if it does take you 2 hrs you probably shouldn't be driving.

Nah, but he gets really touchy when you impugn the integrity of our good mayor.

I shoveled out the entrance to the bar down the street, does that mean I can park my ass in there a smoke a cigarette, Nutter?

I've got a driveway and a garage, brain surgeon. To the best of my knowledge there are zero cars parked in the spaces in front and along the side of my house; all of my neighbors have driveways and garages also, and noone on my block puts their cars on the street overnight, unless they have guests. That's one of the reasons my street is so nicely plowed; it is easy to plow empty streets. When I lived in a house with neither driveway nor garage, I didn't put an auto on the street, so I have never dug out a parking spot and saved it, to the best of my knowledge.

he's right, get over it. the OP is completely ridiculous. saying putting a chair out isn't endorsing lawlessness, it's not condoning murder, and it's not saying to park in front of a hydrant. he's just being honest and look where that's getting him.

    another ridiculous phrase

Bully for you! It's not that way in many other areas of the city. And you know that.

no, why would it? that's illogical but it does show you have your priorities straight on where to shovel.

Because no one would be able to use the bar if I didn't do it. Since I did it, can't I make it for my exclusive use? Therefore, smoking ban doesn't apply.

    See, it's all logical!

Yeah, it's a regular wild west out there with people sniping from second floor windows if you so much as think of taking their spot. FWIW, I'm not a huge fan of the spot saving tactic, but as long as it's confined to the snowstorms, I'm ok with it.

I love how Zete & Hostilitygirl are agreeing on the same thing. Its like the equivalent of Blossum & rodo/packers2 writing to one another in the same thread.

Since Mayor Nutter don't know how to budget, maybe he can sell parking spots.
