I parked on the wrong side of the block this time--the east side of Walker. This is the direction the plows put the snow. So, I had 2+ft all around my car.

Instead of trying to dig out, I chopped it down a bit and put a whole bunch of rock salt all over the snow-front back and side of my car.

I got this rock salt (2 50lb bags) @ Lowes before the last storm. This stuff is the best!! I can't remember what it's called, but it comes in a white bag with red lettering. I salted around it twice during the day. By 4pm, I got it, and drove right out! Yeah, had to back up twice, but it was eassssy!!

It's BIG! BIG

Heh. My husband is chomping at the bit to lift and customize. I'm making him hold off until I'm done using it as a daily driver. I am loving his choice of all terrain tires this time of year, though.

Oh, let him do it! There are few things cooler than a modded LR

I have 'ultra high performance' tires. Needless to say, I wait a day till I take my car out, and stay on main roads

I should. Every year, we go to Maine for a week and spend the whole time off road. We pass lots of modded Rovers and they all make fun of my shiny one. But, they don't make them any more, and I love them so (this is my third Disco). I don't want to give it up.

Then again, I do live in Chester County. A monster Rover would fit right in.

I did a LR tour once. I was in a Defender, but there was a Series 1 and Series 2 Disco in the group. 80 Range too, which was a MONSTER. It was an awesome time...those things should be beaten on

This is the best picture I have of my current beauty, making a hairy water crossing across two logs and various random boards in a wilderness area about a 5 hour drive from town.

Cool. 1 problem, someone else is driving! :-)

My friend just bought a 2010 510hp Sport. Not much off-roading going to happen in that one. LOL

I'm neither for or against it.. but I suppose some people are more prone to being territorial than others when it comes to a parking spot.

If you've got more than one vehicle, oh well... just use some consideration towards your neighbors, because you've got to live around them all year long.
It's not hard to do.
It is illegal to prevent murders. If someone thinks that they can hold a spot then someone that does not like them can move their chair and then someone pulls into a spot that has no chair. The next thing you know, it escalates. The streets are public property. It is also illegal for someone to park in the public street if it blocks your personal driveway.

Some people that dig out their spaces put the snow in the street in front or back of their car making it harder for others to park. I do not have a car. When I did have one, I would just let it sit there until the snow on the street was gone.

Is this where we post our parking war stories? I came home to Port Richmond last night and people were saving spots not just with chairs and trashcans, but with actual bags of kitchen garbage. (Trash day is normally Thursday morning.)

I was at the boyfriend's house in another neighborhood when the storm hit, so I dug out a spot there, gave it up to someone else, and now have nowhere to park near my actual house. Ended up parking 3 blocks away last night... right behind an abandoned bag of kitchen garbage. Weak sauce.

25th and Parrish this morning. Dude in the gray vw golf was shoveling snow on the hood and around the minivan. Not sure what the deal was but it was hilarious. Looked like the minivan hadn't moved since the snow storm. Maybe they cleared off the van into the vw's spot.
