She was a terrible, terrible, TERRIBLE superintendent. Still, I find it excessive to celebrate the woman's death. Her legacy aside, I wouldn't wish cancer on my worst enemy.

My wife got that info from an email from the current superintendent. The email was singing her praises. My wife and I wanted to throw up.

Did you expect it to bash her?

    Default Arlene Ackerman

I've been hearing for a few weeks that Ackerman was in hospice, but could find nothing on the internet including The Notebook about it. This confirms the rumors.

All that money wrung from the pockets of Philadelphia taxpayers couldn't save her miserable racist life.
    Oh well.

Apparently she had pancreatic cancer. It's particularly deadly, killing most patients in the first year. When my husband had it, I said I wouldn't wish it on my worst enemy. Guess I have to live up to that now.

I will say I'd rather die poor and leave people with good memories.

While I would never celebrate anyone's death no matter how much they screwed up the school system or defrauded the taxpayers........I will say this.

    What goes around comes around.

Exactly; it's not about wishing a death or reveling in someone dying, but it is really hard to work up much sympathy over her.

I understand that. You won't find a lot of sympathy from this corner, either, except maybe for those in her immediate family who, I'm sure, had a fuller picture of her virtues as a person than we Philly taxpayers. Her legacy should be assessed all for the damage it did to the school district. All I'm saying is, even if you do see her passing as some direct result of karma or poetic justice, it's not going to do much to undo the damage.

    Professionally she was a hack.

She is dead. (And now there will be many unanswered questions.)

Outside of those two pieces of information, no correlation to karma.
