She doesn't deserve anonymity after what she's done, IMO.
This young girl took an interest in the presidential election, did some research about late term abortions, and decided she liked Mitt Romney. She can't vote yet. Either can her school mates. But she expressed her support of a candidate based on an issue she feels strongly about. Isn't that how our democratic society is supposed to work?
I think this teacher should be fired since she clearly doesn't have an open mind or the ability to encourage teenage students to explore different opinions.
The school could do some damage control by hosting a student-led debate of their own. Then maybe all the other students who chastised this girl for wearing a T-shirt could open their minds and see what the issues are that these 2 candidates stand for.
If there are grounds for a civil rights or freedom of speech lawsuit here, I hope her parents explore that option. This girl seems to have an independent head on her shoulders. We need more kids like this, IMO.
yes we need more kids interested

One would hope. If it were my kid I would and also get her into a different class.

this is a school...and teachers are there to teach, offer guidance, etc...not make statements that a romney shirt is like kkk
hmm... I wonder if she's a concerned citizen of point breeze.
The last election I was in line at starbucks and these two young adult black girls were in front of me. The were in a good mood somehow a conversation was started. I asked them if they voted and the one looked at me and said i bet you voted for mcclain. I responded, why because i'm white? That's an awfully racist statement. No response but shocked looks.
Then the one girl picked up the over flowing tip jar and put it in her purse. I said awe come on don't do that, she said what? I said put the tips in your bag. Replies What tips?, one then laughed nd left the store the other with money in her bag kept telling me it wasn't there, I said loudly i didn't think Obama would approve of her stealing tips, but the store people didn't hear me. As she went to leave i yelled back to the store people who were making coffee she was stealling the tips. I considered blocking the kid's exit but wasn't sure if she had some kind of weapon.
the point of this story for this purpose was the i bet you voted comment... it amazes me that people think every one votes along racial lines. the second was just what followed, it was unbelievable.
