Obvious hate crime. What else could it be? She just magically picks the only white person on the bus? And how did she get on the bus without showing any pass, senior ID, or paying?! Either the bus driver knows her, and they should be suspended or fired for letting the piece of garbage on the bus.

Seriously-the bus driver needs questioned. How did this scumbag get on the bus without paying or anything?! If she is a regular then the driver should be able to provide some info, and the woman should be charged with hate crimes.

And as for the bus driver I also agree. But I have a friend who is a bus driver and he tells me he don't care who walks one the bus, he is petrified of them. He tells me he don't care if they show him a baseball card to get on, he just turns his head when he's on the routes through hell

Understandable. The lack of interaction, though, seems to suggest that it is a regular. I'm only going by what I see on a daily basis on my bus route. Hopefully they'll catch the scumbag by their pattern of getting on the bus around the same time each day.

Isn't it a felony to cause a disturbance on planes, trains, and greyhound? If so, it should also be the case for public transportation. It is getting ridiculous with some of these bus incidents-and this one is about the most unprovoked attack I've seen in some time.

Because her mental illness included/revolves around racism. I feel like more than half the muttering schizophrenics I've ever encountered, white, black or other, have all included racist tirades into their non-stop jibberish. The mentally ill seem way more likely than anybody to be out-and-out racist.

I know what I'd do. Man, woman, or child? I'd fight back until they were on the ground. I've seen too many of these incidents go bad. Years ago I watched a crazy homeless lady start pushing someone in soho and about 2 minutes later the benign altercation got nasty when the homeless lady pulled out a box cutter and started slashing away at the person who thought it was no big deal.

I don't know. I have seen and experienced first-hand, several times, what happens to whites when they try to physically defend themselves against irrational people of color on the attack. I think that dude would have been badly damaged had he fought back.

Yeah, and then there'd be calls for his head on the news to boot. Your options are pretty limited if you're white and you want to be able to continue showing your face in public afterwards. You've basically got to think like a lawyer in those situations, which can be hard if you're being threatened with bodily injury or worse.

Um that's a blanket statement. There are more types of mental illnesses than crazy racist babbling. Sort of the equivalent of saying people with physical illnesses are more likely to be racists.

We will know racism is becoming less prominent only when it's recognized WHENEVER it happens. Until then it's just a problem in denial.
