I got this from a friend:
Last night I discovered that in preparation for the Daily News/Inquirer's upcoming move they are selling all of the books in their archive for $1 each. I went down there this morning and walked away with an original platform book released by William Howard Taft's campaign in 1908, a few presidential biographies, and two 80 year old histories of the Democratic and Republican Parties.
They have many American and European history books, political history, World War II, Vietnam, American and English literature, history of early journalism, and presidential biography remaining. What is not sold by tomorrow is unfortunately going to be thrown away.
If anyone is interested in taking a look at what they have, please call Denise Boal at 609-437-3803. I know she will be there until 5pm today and perhaps sometime before the remaining books are thrown away tomorrow.
