Here we'd rather blame the party in power for the cost of gas.

How can oil now be down to $79 a barrel yet we're still over $3.5 a gallon for gas in many parts of the state?

Inquiring minds want to know ..

Working off older, higher priced oil inventory
Regulation to switch over to summer blend
Refineries closing and/or in the process of closing

I assume it's speculation over future demand, future regulations, and future refining limitations. Not that it's a valid reason - oil companies should not be allowed to fix prices to permanently shield massive profits.

The price of oil is showing the speculation of future demand.

    How do they fix prices?

By shutting down refineries it has been proven they they profit exponentially by falsely controlling supply.

Laffer Curve, what are you going to do ? Stop using gas ? It's an effective monopoly, live with it.

For various reasons; if a refinery is not profitable why should they keep it open?

It is plainly shown that refineries were profitable but shuffled money and product to lie.

I didn't watch the video so I can not comment. What do you mean by "shuffled money and product to lie"?

What were the profit margins? I ask this b/ who are you, I or anyone to decide if 2% margin or a 32% is worth the cost and hassle of operating a refinery. I am using these numbers as pure examples to ask a general question
