engagement ring most likely went out with the trash

I know this sounds crazy but bear with me... My wife and I think that her engagement ring most likely went out in the trash this morning in Fairmount. Does anyone have any contacts in the streets department or knowledge of where the city dumps are located and further if they can track where in the dump a specific truck would have unloaded its trash. Sounds crazy but I have read stories of people tracking these things down.

I called the streets department myself, while the woman that answered was kind she gave a quick no to my question. I'm just looking to pursue this a bit further before giving up while the trail is potentially still hot. The ring was insured but has lots of sentimental value.

The northwest dump is on Domino Lane in Roxborough. Don't know where the trash from Fairmount would go. I would keep calling somebody until I got results. Good luck. Was the ring too big and fell off her finger? I'm asking because this happened to an acquaintance of mine here in Roxborough. His wedding band ended up in the trash, but he was able to get it back fro the Domino Lane dump.
