Best Pizza in Philly

Just moved to Center City about 6 months ago and looking for people's take on the best pizza in town. Somebody mentioned to me recently about Joe's on 16th but haven't had a chance to try it yet. Have tried Zio's on 13th which was pretty darn good! Any other suggestions?

For true gourmet pies, there are many choices. But for run of the mill slices, there aren't too many choices. Most places are underwhelming and serve bland pizza. I personally like Slice (18th and Sansom) which is more on the gourmet style, but they still dish out slices and have your standard toppings.

The best "regular" pizza is at Dolce Carini on the 1900 block of Chestnut. NY style slices.

Gourmet pies, I think Nomad is best but Zavino is also good. These do not hold up for takeout.

Barbuzzo, Stella, Zavino, Nomad, Bufad, Osteria, Spiga(but i don't recommend) are all Center City places doing Neopolitan style gourmet pizzas.

The gourmet spots get a ton of press, so I didn't think I needed to identify the examples. MNG though got most of them.

Recommendations for east of broad/OC? There's a Joe's spinoff on second which is pretty good, bout the same as Joe's. The place on 3rd just north of market is decent, but wondering if anyone had any other favs.

Specifically talking about regularish slices, not gourmet stuff. Although I will agree that Bufad and Nomad are dope.

Whenever I think about going there, I think it's a pain -- ordering dough in advance, far from home and out of the way. But whenever I actually do take the time to go, I think, "This is so worth it. It really is the best pie in the city. I don't know why I don't do it more often."

new place, Santucci's is terrific...so is the rest of their food.....Bella Vista, 10th and Christian...my new favorite!!

My new favorite pizza place: Gennaro's Tomato Pie, 1400 block of Jackson, north side. DE-LISH! Thin crust, fresh toppings. The atmosphere is also a winner. Has a '40's feel to it. Can't wait to go back.

Tacs is awesome! Go for the white pie but get tomatoes as a topping. It's basically a chunky tomato sauce and way better than their standard red sauce.

Tac's is all that, for sure. Thank goodness we have one in jersey where there is no dough ordering, is 3 times the size and they also make excellent salads to go with the pizza... Ya gotta try it..

Best regular pizza is little italy, 9th and south

Nypd pizza at 11 and walnut deserves a shoutout too

Ok ill be the contrarian. Taccanellis has a very good crust, but the topping quality is poor and the dough reservation policy is asinine. Given the great pizza restaurants that have opened over the past few years Tacs is 100% not worth the hassle.
