Default Best place for a steak

So, looking for the best place to get a steak in the city for a night out with the girl. I'm thinking of three right now: Butcher and Singer, Union Trust, and Barclay Prime. Of the three, I have only been to Union Trust. Had a tasty steak there, and the environment is stunning, but the service was only okay. However, I was with a group, so it's nigh on impossible to judge the service you'd get with two people as opposed to ten. I realize that the three are very different places, with Butcher and Singer having a more classic old-school steakhouse feel, Union Trust being a glitzier gilded age sort of place, and Barclay Prime being a more modern setting. All genres of course have their ups and downs.

Any thoughts, or recommendations for places I may be leaving out?

I'd go with Butcher & Singer, haven't been to UT but have been to Barclay recently and the food besides steak was not very good considering the exorbitant prices. Service was very good but again not quite up to the price tag (Lacroix, for example, has better service). Unless you are in the market for the ultra-luxury (and ultra-expensive) steaks they offer at BP it's not worth it IMO.

I've eaten at Del Frisco's and it was excellent. We were a big group and still, the service was very good. It wasn't cheap, that's for sure.

Of course, unlike the three you mentioned, DF is a chain.

The inside though is stunning and you'd never know it was a chain.

Butcher and Singer is a beautiful place with outstanding food and good service.so is Barclay Prime, but despite same ownership they are totally different places. Enjoy wherever you go!

I tasted Del Frisco's dishes and it was the best. You can buy and eat steak there.

Whoa is that the lovely Son Ye-Jin I spy in your avatar?

It's funny, I've never actually been to a steak house in the city that I can remember. I don't know why. I think I'm going to have to remedy this very shortly.

So I've gotten reservations for Butcher and Singer. Got a call today to confirm my reservation, which I missed, but I thought I'd see if I could request a seat or spot when I get around to calling them back. Every restaurant seems to have those one or two tables that just make the experience that much better and can totally shift the room's ambiance and feel. Anyone been there before that knows of a prime place I can request?
