Does the pope **** in the woods? Get a cup of their soup, any soup, and a piece of grilled cornbread, and you'll miss your goddamn train.

It's Cajun food but it's got some Philadelphia idiosyncrasies, like their snapper soup. Those bastards are not afraid of some flavor.

Normally I'm not one for co-opting another city's local flavor (like seeing an "authentic philly cheesesteak" place in Boulder, CO), but Beck's does a really good job. El and I mentioned this in another thread, but the Cajun cheesesteak is awesome. I know it sounds sacrilegious but they pull it off.

I ate a chicken po boy at Becks today, along with a piece of cornbread. It was delicious. Finally, a place in 30th St I don't mind spending my money at.

Can't wait for lunch time tomorrow. Always liked them at RTM. Their "cheesesteak" thing is really good. Like a heart attack on a plate good.

Went today for lunch and food was great. Same quality as the RTM. They were actually very busy with a nice crown around the counter. They had plenty of staff but still need to work out their process a little. It was a little confusing on exactly what to do to order and pay, but they were working it out. They do have a seating area to the left that they have designated for waitress service. Doesn't seem like a very good use of the space. Nice to have a new completely different option for lunch in the area.

I agree with the counter and table space, I don't think most people are going to go to Beck's for waitress service. I go to lunch round 11 so I'm hoping the crowds aren't too bad. They definitely need to get a new low system, I hope they will work out he kinks.
