and 13th St, made the cut. They singled out Zavino and their Diavalo pizza as particularly tasty (I agree). Bindi, Barbuzzo (Little Italian Redheads) and others were mentioned, go Philly!

Yea 13th St is really amazing and it's only getting better. A bonus is that it's so close the Convention Center hotels, great for tourism. Finally somewhere visitors can walk to easily that's not Chinatown or chain restaurants. That's why Mike Stollenwerk is moving Fish there, and the new restaurant from the Horizons folks is going to be there too.
I was walking down it last night and all the buzz is great to see. The only bummer is the block long wall of loading bays on the Wanamaker Building between Market and Chestnut.
Barbuzzo is great. Ate there twice in as many weeks.
Just went to Fiorinos on Indian Queen Lane. Franco is back and it's great. Nice small, comfortable place. Food and service were great.

Chris, where is Franco's? In the same spot? I didn't know it closed? Is the other Franco's on City Line still open? Please tell us about Fiorinos.
That's great that Mid-Town got some recognition but I'm shocked people still read Details magazine.
That's one of my favorite shopping strips too! (Open House, Verde, Duross & Langel...)

Haa! I know, it's not exactly the NYRB but I got a subscription for 10 bucks so figured what the hell, it's ok to flip through for the once in a blue moon interesting piece.
I LOVED Details in the '80s. It was so weird when they completely changed their format.
Bindi is closing soon, btw.

Indian Queen Lane and Krail Street in East Falls, near the train station, the Old Academy, and the Schuylkill River. I believe that the other Franco's across the river is still open, but Franco Faggi from the Monte Carlo Living Room is the proprietor of the new Fiorina, which in true Philadelphia tradition will simply be called Franco's, even though it is the only one of the recent three to not have Franco's in its name.

Nice designation. But Details is hardly the publication I would go to for dining information.

I actually think business owners there were behind it, if I can recall correctly.
