The Mexican stand in the Bourse Food Court. Two tacos (I usually get Lengua and Chorizo), with onion and cilantro, $5.00. In the colder months they have Sopa Pozole (Mexican pork stew), with a little chili sauce is amazing. All the Mexican consulate employees eat there, so you know it's the real deal.
chicken pesto, roasted pepper and provolone on sarcones at mikes (32nd and market) is $5 exactly. huge though, could easily be split. 2 tacos from tacos don memo. King gyro makes a good gyro... but i guess that goes without saying.

Small sandwich at Mama's is $4.50 or so and is pretty filling, though may leave those with big appetites hungry.
More obscure--
$3.50 sticky rice roll with egg, pork belly, and lots of black pepper from Cambodian grocery on 7th St below Snyder. It's pretty big and very delicious. Hen Seng near also sells these delicious pre-wrapped steamed buns filled with with egg and roasted pork for like $1.50 or $2, get two of those. I assume there are similar things available in Chinatown.
