Default La Colombe to open new location in Fishtown?

Any idea where this will be?

"Each will be the next generation of cafes with cupping centers, labs, cutting edge brewing equipment and cool coffee kits," Carmichael said. "And, the Fishtown shop will be leading the way with a full on distillery for our normally private spirits. We're licensed to make our own rum, and we're starting production on that now."

I'm guessing it was already approved and part of the concert complex plan. If I remember correctly, there was an inclusion about a distillery.

Maybe they are talking about the factory that already exists in Port Richmond on Tioga St at Thompson St.

I think they'd want a more viable location that has good traffic, don't you think?

I had heard awhile back that the distillery going into the Canal Street North project was going to be a new location for Philadelphia Distilling (the Bluecoat Gin folks). Tenants change as projects encounter delays, so of course it's possible, but based on La Colombe's prior locations and its CEO's personality, I'd guess they'd go for a standalone thing on a neighborhood corridor like Frankford. Depending on the size of the distilling operation, perhaps they would consider the groundfloor of the building at Front and Master? That used to be a distillery...

There were some rumors a while back that someone was going to open a small distillery in that building. But that was over a year ago. Not sure it would be conducive to their general model - under the El isn't going to bring in much foot traffic. They'd be better off either at the Canal St project or along Frankford/Girard.
