Hey, I've got an idea! Why don't you write a blog about the tragedy to promote yourself by taking advantage of unfortunate times!

Don't give me this crap about supporting police and fire. A girl I'm dating lives right there and says you're full of ****...no police, and certainly no firemen were seen since they were working all night. Quit making **** up.

As moderator, I don't see an issue with them posting they are open but I do have an issue with them posting this anywhere other than this section. We had neighbors over from a few blocks near our house to drink during the storm...sometimes better to weather it together. Don't knock the storm drinkers!

Realtors are quickly surpassing lawyers as the most unbearable citizens. That spam blog posted every 10 seconds annoys the **** out of me. Everything somehow has to circle back to selling property. You are a human being, either post as a human being or buy advertizing.
(No offense Brooke, you're an asset to the community)

Edit: And everything about that diner other than the cheesecake is mediocre. Been there once and I live a block away.

As a real estate agent and attorney, I feel super privileged to still be considered an asset. Ha ha. I've been around here longer than dirt though and am the reason why we have neighborhood sections...yeah, my idea back when most of these posters were still in diapers. (Okay, maybe not that long.)

About Darling's Diner...it *is* nice to have a 24 hour diner around. Anything tastes okay after a night of drinking. To not have to go all the way down to the Melrose or suffer through a meal at Aramingo Diner is worth something. Darling's is NOT worse than Aramingo Diner. But I can't speak for the quality of the Melrose since I've never had any food there completely sober.

Sure, Darling's is fine. I eat there and enjoy it .

The trend of using this forum as self-promotion has become ridiculous. Even worse is when people rip stories from here, 'blog about it, then link it on here as if they are novel.

It is equally distasteful to throw the same post in multiple sections. Imagine if every business and organization did such 'promotion'.

Been there ONCE and EVERYTHING is mediocre. OK. Maybe you can go on to review a restaurant that you've never been to but heard it sucks by some guy on the El.

If it were any good, I'd be there every day. I hate New Jersey, but they got us destroyed when it comes to diners.

There's just something about the Piazza that attracts mediocre food and dbags.

I eat breakfast there occasionally. I've never had a bad meal and the service has always been great.

Not saying this woman was drinking and glad you had a fun time with your near neighbors, but it might not be wise to encourage people to venture far during a storm.

Their catfish breakfast may be my favorite breakfast in our neighborhood.

The only thing that ticks me off is when I go in at night and get the calamari fries. I used to love them but they've been overcooked the last three times and now I don't want to order them.
