I think this project would be awesome if they could keep cars off Canal between Laurel and Poplar. I've never understood why we don't make better use of our small side streets as places where pedestrians can just wander in and out of shops...Temple Bar in Dublin comes to mind, though I'm not suggesting Canal Street become just a stretch of bars.
