Maybe you could go shopping any of the other 28 days a month that there aren't huge events at the Piazza? Just a suggestion.

Lol, people living in the piazza NOT checking their Facebook? That is funny...

I am not sure I qualified as a bro in my early 20s, but I know many of my friend's did. But quite a few ended buying houses in the city and are now just boring yuppies. So, is it so bad that they found an area outside of Manayunk?
Well the Mad Decent block party is coming, so it's time to go shopping at Cousins for food instead of the Fresh. Or just go to Wegmans.
Besides, shopping in NJ is totally worth it given the gas over there is cheaper, the savings just from refueling in NJ plus a sneak into Total Wine more than covers the bridge toll.
Plus you can dress Full Kenzo and scare the suburbanites in Cherry Hill and Marlton.
NO need to batten down the hatches Mad Decent has been moved to the Great Plaza (penns' landing) this yearhttps://www.facebook.com/Maddecentblockparty
From the responses to the Op, I can see why no one local is upset by the influx of idiots.
Birds of a feather and all that.
Enjoy the douchery, keep over there.
Once you escaped from the Yunk, it was bound to happen.
The horror.
Not as horrible as the Mad Decent Block Party![]()
I heard it was so scary that they were not allowed back for 2012 - and forced to go to Penns Landing.
(haha)

I went to this just because I wanted to see Of Monsters and Men. My main complaint with the block party was that the sound in the Piazza sucks. Rather than just blaring the music, which the acoustics of the piazza does not support, they'd probably be better off setting up another set of speakers in the middle of the piazza.
I got there around 4:30pm and it was a clusterf%ck but that was to be expected. I stayed for about 20 minutes and left before Of Monsters & Men came on because the sound for the middle band was terrible and I suspected it wouldn't get better for the main act. The YouTube video a few posts up captures how bad the sound was.
Watching sports on the big screen, flea markets and other crowd attractions are probably a better use for the space.
