So there's just going to be no scrapple in the whole neighborhood now. This is devastating. I may have to move.

There is also Mini Trini and other trucks there I think, depending on the day.
Yeah-sorry I didn't clarify. There are other trucks like mini trini-but they all seem to be about specialties. Cupcakes, coffee, etc. I couldn't see a specialized food truck going into a diner spot.

Trinidadian/Caribbean could fill a restaurant. Not a terrible idea if done well, there are more than a few Caribbean restaurants in the city but they are all low budget places that don't appeal to yuppies/hipsters.

I find this whole thing amazingly strange because just a couple weeks ago the family wouldn't stop complaining about food trucks. The son was going off about how he couldn't figure out why people were going across the street to a truck selling $7 grilled cheese when they have AC and their grilled cheese is a couple of bucks...hahahaha I guess he got over that real quick when a food truck started waving their money at them.

Really is sad. I really liked the family.

God help me, if Verna were to open a restaurant there, I'd never make it to the el to get to work.

Tell me about it. I'd have to rent a booth out in there.

I haven't been lately, but isn't Paradise right across the street? Don't they have scrapple? Ida Mae's has scrapple.
Sulimay's freaked me out giving me Italian sausage with eggs...yech. Without warning I might add, but they might have scrapple. Its so friggin cheap, its a good cost point.
I can't imagine nobody has scrapple.

If Ida Mae's has scrapple it's not on their menu. If they did have it I'd be all over that. Ida Mae's rocks. I had a hoagie from Paradise once and it... wasn't good. I don't like to talk trash too much about local places, but I kind of swore off that place afterward, so if they do sell breakfast I ain't eating it. Johnny Brenda's doesn't have scrapple.

    Darling's has it. Crisis averted.

Its down on the bottom, under "meats".
Unless they have it on the menu, but not in stock.

I love paradise. soup and sandwich for under $5. Can't beat it. I also like getting a small pizza from there once in a while. No scrapple, though. The only hoagie I had from paradise was a flounder hoagie and I really like them. Food is purely an opinion thing, though, so it really isn't trash talking.

Now the one thing I will miss is the acropolis meatloaf. Damn good stuff. Like crack.

    Cream of chicken soup...
And really, their burger was well worth the price. If I got a soup I could hardly finish it.
I wouldnt' go to Darlings for a drink of water.
If I'm making a trip, might as well go to Honeys.

Nice! They didn't have it last time I went there. But that menu looks different so maybe it's newer.

Looked in on my way home last night. Looks like they closed with about 10 minutes notice! Newspapers were still on the counter, food in the coolers, etc. Really bizarre.

I enjoyed them because I could go there and eat and catch the 25 to work. I could walk in and they would ask me if I wanted the "usual". I heard the son has been talking to the parents to close and enjoy retirement.

Signs are already down. Either someone already rented it or they changed their mine. I'm guessing that someone already rented it.
