The incident is very disturbing for a lot of reasons (random, robbery, happened in the heart of NoLibs, victim paralyzed from neck down) and I'm surprised at the lack of comments and the lack of press it has received. Guess you have to die to become a big story (it also helps to die between Vine and South; the Fishtown homicide got a footnote in the Inquirer).

That's great. They caught the shooter. Now this thread will die in a few days and people will forget about it. When he's on trial, people will remember again and there may be a few new posts and then the thread will die again.

Meanwhile, the victim's life goes on and he has to think every day of his life how he will never walk, swim, eat with his own hands, blow a load ever again.

Don't they eventually just drop it if the defendant never shows? I mean, they don't drop it, they issue a bench warrant for his arrest, but that essentially means he goes free.
