    Default WGCC Back to School

    BACK TO SCHOOL EVENT

Thank you for your interest in West Girard Community Council. This is to announce the start of our donation drive for school supplies where WGCC in cooperation with Best In Show Grooming, Luxe Nail Spa LLC, and Mugshots Coffee House, support the 22nd Police District's annual "Back to School" event. The 22nd Disctrict wants to provide all local kids with the supplies they need to be able to put their best foot forward in the new school year. Towards that end we're asking you, our neighbors, to donate whatever supplies you can afford to help ensure the event's success.

Drop off donations at any of these convenient locations (through August 12)

    Best In Show Grooming
    2708 West Girard Avenue
    Just West of 27th Street

    Luxxe Nail Spa LLC
    2714 West Girard Avenue
    Just West of 27th Street

    Mugshots Coffee House
    2831 West Girard Avenue
    Just East of 29th Street

If you know a child who might need help with supplies, the actual Back to School Event will take place on Wednesday, August 15, at the Recreation Center, 26th and Thompson Streets.

If you would like to help out but are too busy to go out to purchase supplies, you can always make a financial donation to WGCC with the contribution earmarked for this (or any other) specific project. Simply mail it to the address below or use the convenient "Donate" button on our web page (also listed below). Your contribution is tax deductible to the extent allowed by law.

    THANK YOU!

    Sincerely,
    WGCC

Is the 22nd District requesting any particular supplies? Backpacks? Calculators (does anyone use calculators anymore)? Thumb drives? Spiral notebooks?

WGCC wants to apologize if anyone was inconvenienced regarding the location of the Back to School event today. There was a miscommunication between the Police Dept. and our office. ... We will be more careful to double and triple check in the future.
