This was the scene at 29th and Poplar (south side of 29th street at that intersection) around 6:30 pm yesterday. There was another smashed up car on Poplar on the west side of the intersection heading towards 29th.
Does anyone know how it happened?

I would guess that the cause was similar to this clown who was speeding and clipped another car.

Car run over Hulk foot. Hulk get very mad. Sorry.
A friend who lives at 29th and Ogden posted on Facebook that she heard it was a fight between a bus and a car and the car lost. Not an official news source, but that's the rumor.
I can tell you there was no bus when I passed by, and I'm pretty sure I got there like 1 minute after it happened. I could be wrong though.
Texting, most likely.

A car that you can't see in the picture ran the red light on Poplar. Clipped the Cadillac SUV and flipped it on its side. The SUV then spun and hit the parked silver car.
A couple people went to the hospital by Ambulance.
The Cadillac SUV was a Courtesy Car from a dealership in NJ. I really want to know what work he was having done at the dealership, and to have heard the call he or she had to make.
I can just hear it now: Yes, I brought my car in to get the brakes fixed.... I was wondering if it is ready.... But, I need it back now... Because I totaled your loaner car, unless you have another loaner you would like to give me.
Once upon a time, a parsec ago, I had just changed the oil on the world's smallest Dodge Colt, hereonto referred as a small Mass. Sitting in the EB lane @29th & Poplar, I spotted 2 vehicles (a.k.a. Large Masses) heading for the intersection. One being obviously oblivious to their red light. A quick calculation of the summation of vectors determined a pending demonstration that three objects cannot occupy the same space at the same time.
As thoughts of WHY DID I CHANGE THE OIL TODAY? Raced through my mind, the WB red light runner slowed and the SB minivan accelerated like it had Hyperdrive! ~29 seconds later @25th & Poplar, my BP returned to normal.
FWIW, a parsec is a unit of distance, not time. Han Solo got it wrong when he said the Millenium Falcon completed the Kessel Run in less than 12 parsecs.
