Default 1620-22 North Street -- Another FU to the Neighborhood and the City by the Spring Garden Un-Development Corp.

1620-22 North Street, which is owned by the Spring Garden Development Corporation has been sitting as a shell for more than 7 years! The facade looks nice, but otherwise nothing has been done to the inside. Now it's delinquent on property taxes to the tune of almost $10,000. according to the OPA website. We should not tolerate this from our neighborhood development corporations who are supposed to be model stewards of properties and a force for positive change in the city. Rather than sell the property, Pat Freeland and SGDG would prefer to stiff our school district by not paying property taxes. This is a clear breach of fiduciary duty to the organization -- someone needs to investigate the workings of this organization.

I thought the SGDC was no more? Or was that one of the less reputable neighborhood groups?

While I don't disagree that they should do something with it, I don't see how it's a clear breach of fiduciary duty to the organization.
