Default Attempted Break-in 27th and Poplar

Smashed a window, homeowner scared her off. Keep your eyes peeled for a tall, fat, dazed-looking black woman, late teens-early 20's, squished into her clothes, ass crack hanging out, jeans and light blue hooded zipped up sweat shirt. Last seen heading east on Poplar. This was about 4pm this afternoon.

Well, that description fits about half of the fine young ladies living N of Girard. Are we sure it was an attempted break in, or could it just be random vandalism?

I had to edit--I meant east on Poplar. So that also fits the description of half of the fine ladies of Francisville.
She opened the window. Clear palm prints on window, blood on glass. Cops said detectives won't come because it was "attempted", nothing was taken.

Gotta love it. So now an "attempted" break in is not a crime. Something tells me their response would have been different if the homeowner was a police officer.

They really should contact the news media about this. I'm sure with the impending RE tax hikes the media would love a story like this. They're going to raise your taxes double or triple and then not respond to obvious crimes like this one.

That's exactly what was said to the cop. He did give it the college try though, to try to get crime scene to come out. They gave him the thumbs down.

    Ok, I'll ask again

Broad daylight break in, 2 dead at 20th and poplar, additional gun fire at 20 Parrish,
mugging 21st st between Parrish and brown.....This week

It seems to be getting worse, is this just an access to Information issue?

Against my better judgement but the above suggestions do not seem as crazy as they should.

So, what is one to do?

What to do? How about going heavy on the Stop and Frisks? Or, maybe some beat cops. I really don't understand why we don't have more of a police presence(foot or bike) between Girard and Poplar and 30th and College Ave.

Your description of the woman sounds similar to an obviously disturbed woman who was walking along the 2800 to 2600 blocks of Girard Avenue. If it was the same woman, the attempted break-in was probably more motivated by her mental illness than a crime of opportunity....not that that's still very frightening and distressing to the homeowner.

Yes, the homeowner noted the flat affect of someone who is heavily medicated or not entirely with the program. She wasn't startled by the alarm or the resident, just stood there looking dazed.

Off topic: do you still have flowers?

Just an update: Someone from Central Detectives did stop by on Sunday to dust for prints and collect the blood evidence. I guess it took a couple days to go through the channels? So it's nice to know it didn't get ditched.
