Default Shooting at 20th & Poplar?

NBC 10 had a story on a some overnight shootings and briefly mentioned that there was a shooting last night at 20th & Poplar. I didn't see any threads about it. NBC 10 didn't elaborate on the shooting. Any info?

There was a shooting again tonight. Same general vicinity on 20th, between Parrish and Poplar.

News was saying that last night's shooting was at 22nd and Parrish. That's getting a bit close for comfort.

I think it is time to realize that 20th and poplar and 22nd and Parrish are pretty damn close regardless of real estate prices and neighborhood association boarders

Anyone interested in a nicely renovated 4 bedroom?

You're right that it's close. The news is not covering these shootings - no deaths thankfully but as I've been able to piece more of it together it appears that 1 happened on Sunday at the laundramat at 17th and Ridge, 1 Monday night at 20th and Poplar and the one on Tueday night happened at 20th and Parrish actually. All related...turf, drugs etc. from what I heard.

you people are so self righteous. just because you moved into the neighborhood doesn't mean they have to stop shooting and killing people. they've been there way longer than you

What BBQ said. I'm just coming off shift work--I was up for a big chunk of the night. I didn't hear anything...

I thought the same way, until the newer residents around 13th & Fitzwater Streets brought great improvements to the area over the years.

    That was this:

Man shot in Brewerytown, in stable condition

I was laying on my deck, and heard them clear as day.

OK, so in your opinion, what are we doing "wrong" or not doing?

So under this logic we as tax paying residents of the city (both property and city wage) have no right to feel safe while walking down the street? Perhaps I am missing something, but I was under the impression that this is NOT acceptable behavior for ANY socioeconomic class.

torts is being ironic. He gets even more subtle than this sometimes, so watch out.

listen people... there are still drug/ turf issues in this area. so long as you aren't galavanting around at 3:30am, you should be okay. Unless these shootings happen at noon at a playground.. i wouldn't worry too much about it.
